Cards show modern type matchups before abilities and items. Each guide explains the differences that matter in Daily Red’s Gen III battles.
A little type knowledge goes a long way
Read the multiplier
2× or 4× means a weakness. ½× or ¼× means a resistance. 0× means a type immunity. Unlisted matchups deal neutral, 1× damage.
For a Pokémon with two types, multiply both matchups. Charizard’s Fire and Flying types each take 2× damage from Rock, making Rock moves 4× effective.
Check the move, then the Pokémon
A Ground-type move can exploit Pikachu’s weakness even when used by a Pokémon of another type. Simply choosing a Ground-type Pokémon does not make all its moves super effective.
Speed, move power, accuracy, abilities and the opponent’s coverage moves also matter. A weakness is a useful starting point, not a guaranteed win.
