Snorlax

What is Snorlax weak to?

Snorlax is weak only to Fighting-type moves, which deal 2× damage. Its Normal typing is immune to Ghost attacks and has no resistances on its own.

How to beat Snorlax

  • Look for a strong Fighting attack such as Brick Break. Snorlax’s base Defense is lower than its Special Defense, so physical Fighting damage is a useful starting point.
  • Ghost attacks normally do no damage to Snorlax. A Ghost-type Pokémon can still hurt it by choosing a damaging move of another type.
  • A super-effective hit does not guarantee a knockout: Snorlax has high HP. Consider whether your attacker can stay in long enough to finish the job.

Abilities can change the matchup

Thick Fat halves incoming Fire and Ice damage, adding two effective resistances beyond the Normal-type chart. A Snorlax with Immunity instead cannot be poisoned. These abilities are alternatives, so check which one applies.

How to handle Snorlax in Daily Red

Daily Red uses Generation III battle rules. The weaknesses above still apply to this standard form, but Fairy-type matchups do not exist in Gen III.

  • Red’s Snorlax has Immunity, Leftovers, and Rest. Poison will not wear it down, and its recovery makes weak attacks a poor long-term plan.
  • Fighting attacks are physical in Gen III. If your daily team has one, compare the user’s Attack and remaining HP before committing it to this matchup.
  • Snorlax also carries Body Slam, Earthquake, and Shadow Ball. A Ghost-type switch blocks Body Slam but is not protected from Shadow Ball.
